12th Annual Port Angeles Kayak Symposium

at the Port Angeles City Pierand Hollywood Beach

ADMISSION to the demo beach $5 or FREE with a PA Food Bank donation of non-perishable food. The demo beach will be open Friday 1pm-5pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 9am-3pm.

The retail area will be open Friday 1pm-5pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 9am-3pm. Our Spring Sale will continue at our shop through the next weekend.
CLINICS will be held throughout the 3 days on various kayaking techniques, safety, etc. We are bringing in the regions best instructors to teach beginning through advanced skills and techniques as well as slide shows and other on-land informative talks. A list of clinics will be available by February 28th. Clinics, slide shows and other presentations have a small fee to help offset the costs of the Coaches and Instructors time, travel and accommodations. Online registration will open March 1st.
CLINIC INSTRUCTORS: This list reads like the Who’s Who of West Coast kayak instructors. Many of the country’s most respected instructors are paddling into town for this event.

1st ANNUAL PORT ANGELES RESCUE SKILLS CHAMPIONSHIP presented by Bluewater Kayak Works / Kayakers Go Coastal: (Sunday 11:00-1:00) Test all those vital skills you’ve learned in a competitive environment! Featured events include self-rescue, T-rescue, disabled paddler rescue, and towing. Points champion from all four events receives a new Bluewater Kayak Pump, donated by Bluewater Kayak Works and installed by Rhonda Schwab of Kayakers Go Coastal! $5 Online registration is now closed. Please register at the event check-in tent on the beach.
6th ANNUAL COHO DODGE AND DASH KAYAK RACE: Olympic Raft & Kayak and Olympic Peninsula Paddlers Club are sponsoring this kayak race on Sunday morning. There is a 3.6 nm course with eight different competitor catagories. Race starts at 9 am so participants need to be there at 8:30 am to sign up. Prizes TBA.
